About the role

As the Medical Assistance Coordinator - Team Leader, you'll play a pivotal role in leading a team that delivers critical medical assistance services to travellers when they need it most. Combining clinical expertise with strong people leadership, you'll be responsible for driving team performance, ensuring high-quality case management, and helping deliver positive traveller outcomes in a fast-paced and purpose-driven environment.

Acting as a trusted clinical subject matter expert, you'll support complex cases and escalations, provide coaching and development to your team, and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure consistent, traveller-centric service delivery. What the role looks like

· Leading and developing a high-performing team of Medical Assistance Coordinators, creating a culture of accountability, collaboration and exceptional traveller care.





· Providing clinical leadership and expert guidance on complex, high-risk and escalated medical assistance cases.

· Supporting critical traveller journeys, including medical evacuations, repatriations and fitness-to-fly assessments, ensuring safe and timely outcomes.

· Acting as a trusted clinical advisor, partnering with internal stakeholders and external providers to deliver informed, evidence-based decisions.

· Coaching, mentoring and developing team capability through regular case reviews, quality assurance activities and performance conversations.

· Driving clinical quality, risk management and compliance, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures and global medical assistance programs.

· Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, enhancing service delivery, traveller outcomes and operational performance while championing our C.A.R.E. values in everything you do.

What you’ll bring

· Current AHPRA nursing registration with extensive clinical experience across acute care settings such as Emergency, ICU, Cardiac raspatory and orthopaedic and general surgery, Aviation, Remote or Telehealth environments.

· Proven leadership experience, with the ability to coach, mentor and develop high-performing clinical teams.

· Strong clinical judgement and decision-making skills,



with confidence managing complex, high-risk and escalated cases.

· Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, enabling you to build trusted relationships across internal teams, providers and customers.

· Highly developed analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to assessing risk and identifying solutions.

· Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.

· Experience balancing quality clinical outcomes with commercial considerations, ideally within travel insurance, emergency assistance or a related healthcare setting.
