About the role

Perth Hire Shop is looking for a hands-on Assistant Branch Manager who enjoys working with customers and keeping a team moving. You’ll work alongside the Branch Manager to keep equipment flowing in and out, support the team and make sure customers get the service and gear they need.

You don’t need to know every machine on day one. We’ll help you learn our fleet and systems. What matters most is that you’re dependable, organised and ready to take ownership.

A day in the role

Your day could include helping a customer choose equipment, checking availability for an upcoming job, coordinating a delivery or return, and making sure the team is ready for what’s next. You’ll also help with hire paperwork, equipment checks, stock control and keeping the branch safe and presentable.

As you build your experience, you’ll take on more responsibility and cover for the Branch Manager when needed.

You’ll bring

- A helpful, confident approach with customers, both in person and on the phone

- Experience in a practical or customer-facing role, such as hire, trade, retail, transport or warehousing

- The ability to stay organised when priorities change

- Confidence using computers and everyday business software, including Microsoft Office 365

- Good attention to detail and sound judgement

- A willingness to get involved with the physical, hands-on side of branch work





- A team-first attitude and commitment to protected work practices

- A current driver’s licence

- Interest in learning the business and developing as a leader

Equipment hire experience is welcome, but we’re happy to train someone with the right attitude and transferable skills.

The role

This is a full-time position at our North of the River branch. The operating hours are:

- Monday to Friday: 7:00 am–5:00 pm

- Saturday: 7:00 am–1:00 pm

Availability to work within these hours is required.
