As the State Profit Protection Manager - VIC/TAS, you will act as a strategic business partner to operational leaders across your assigned state, driving initiatives that protect profitability, strengthen operational controls, and reduce business risk.

You will influence senior stakeholders, lead governance and compliance activities, and translate national Profit Protection strategies into tangible business outcomes. Success in this role will be measured not by activity, but by the outcomes you create through leadership influence, risk reduction, operational excellence and measurable profit improvement.

What you'll be doing

- Own and drive Profit Protection performance across the state, delivering measurable improvements in shrink, governance, compliance and business risk reduction.
- Act as the strategic Profit Protection advisor to State Managers and Zone Managers, holding leaders accountable for agreed actions and performance outcomes.
- Lead the execution of national Profit Protection strategies across the state, translating business priorities into measurable operational outcomes and sustainable performance improvements.
- Identify emerging risks, operational vulnerabilities and loss trends, implementing proactive interventions before they impact business performance.
- Support high-risk store interventions and recovery plans.
- Coach operational leaders to strengthen Profit Protection capability and ownership.
- Deliver continuous improvement initiatives that enhance controls,



processes and ways of working.
- Champion the adoption of new technologies, governance frameworks and profit protection programs.
- Use data, insights and emerging risk trends to influence senior leadership decisions and shape state performance priorities.
- Lead the execution of national Profit Protection strategies within the state, ensuring consistent implementation and measurable business outcomes.

To be successful in this role you'll have:

- Extensive experience in Profit Protection, Loss Prevention, Retail Operations or a related business leadership role, with a proven track record of delivering measurable business outcomes through strategic influence, risk reduction and operational improvement.
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to interpret data, identify trends and translate insights into effective business actions.
- Demonstrated success influencing, challenging and holding senior operational leaders accountable for delivering measurable business outcomes across large and complex teams.
- Exceptional leadership presence and communication skills, with the confidence and credibility to influence difficult conversations, drive accountability and challenge established thinking at senior leadership levels
- Experience leading governance, compliance and audit programs within a complex retail environment.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving capability, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, assess complex risks and drive sustainable business improvement across multiple stakeholder groups.
- Advanced capability in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools, with experience leveraging business data to support decision making.




- Proven ability to operate strategically while driving disciplined execution, creating accountability and delivering sustainable business outcomes rather than short-term fixes.
- Previous retail experience and a deep understanding of operational processes controls and profit protection principles.
