u&u; Recruitment Partners are proud to be partnering with an ASX listed highly regulated Australian wagering business in their search for a new Legal Counsel, Sydney based.

The role will take ownership of key commercial contracts, licensing and regulatory matters.

This is an opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer to take a lead role working closely with senior legal, compliance, product, marketing, trading and executive stakeholders.

The opportunity:

You will have primary carriage of legal input across a broad range of regulatory matters, including:

- Advising on Australian licensing applications, renewals and variations;
- Reviewing advertising, marketing and promotional campaigns;
- Supporting the resolution of escalated customer disputes and complaints;
- Engaging with state and federal regulators on regulatory matters;
- Providing legal input into responsible gambling and AML/CTF frameworks;
- Responding to regulator, law enforcement and other formal information requests; and
- Supporting the wider Legal team with commercial contracts and other legal matters.

You will work closely with the Legal and Regulatory Affairs, Compliance, Product, Marketing, Trading and Customer Support teams, while engaging externally with regulators and specialist legal advisers.

About you:

You will be an Australian-admitted lawyer with at least 4 years' post-admission experience, bringing strong regulatory capability and the confidence to engage directly with regulators and senior stakeholders.

Experience within a highly regulated consumer industry will be well regarded. Regulatory experience from sectors such as gaming, wagering,



financial services or telecommunications will also be relevant.

You will bring:

- Strong knowledge of Australian regulatory frameworks;
- Experience advising on regulatory matters and engaging with regulators;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- A pragmatic, commercial approach to legal advice;
- The ability to explain complex regulatory issues simply and clearly;
- Solid organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities;
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach and genuine "get it done" attitude; and
- A collaborative, approachable and down-to-earth style.
