About the Role:
Air Tickets is the leading airfare consolidator operating across Australia and New Zealand, providing specialist airfare distribution, ticketing, fare support, and servicing solutions to travel agency partners.
The Fares & Ticketing Consultant plays a key role in delivering accurate fare quotations, ticket issuance, reissues, EMDs, and customer support services. Working as part of a national operations team, this role supports travel agent customers by interpreting airline fare rules, ticketing requirements, policies, and procedures while ensuring all transactions are completed accurately and within service level commitments.
The role requires strong technical ticketing expertise, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Accurate and competitive domestic and international airfare quotations.
- Accurate issuance of airline tickets, reissues, EMDs.
- Interpretation and application of airline fare rules, ticketing policies and procedures.
- Processing voluntary and involuntary ticket changes in accordance with airline requirements.
- Supporting travel agent customers via phone, email and workflow systems.
- Managing assigned queues and prioritising work to meet airline and customer deadlines.
- Liaising with airline representatives and internal stakeholders to resolve complex ticketing issues.
- Escalating complex enquiries to Senior Consultants or Team Leaders as required.
- Contributing to process improvement initiatives and maintaining current industry knowledge.
Key Performance Indicators
- Achievement of ticketing accuracy and quality standards.
- Meeting individual productivity and operational KPI targets.
- Compliance with queue management and SLA requirements.
- Timely processing of ticketing, reissue and refund transactions.
- Delivery of exceptional customer service outcomes.
- Compliance with company policies, airline requirements and operational procedures.
About You
In order to be successful for this role, the ideal candidate will possess:
- Strong understanding of airfares, ticketing, reissues and EMDs.
- Experience using Travelport, Sabre, Amadeus or equivalent GDS platforms.
- Ability to interpret complex airline fare rules and ticketing requirements accurately.
- Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail with a focus on quality and compliance.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while managing competing priorities.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Experience using SmartTicket, airline portals, BSP Link or similar systems is advantageous.
