About the role

Join our team in a dynamic role of buying, loaning and selling gold and jewellery.
The Vintage Jewellery Co. (VJC) is an online retailer specialising in vintage and pre-loved jewellery, now opening its first brick-and-mortar store in Moonee Ponds. Our new store will specialise in a bringing an elevated jewellery buying and sales experience.

Key responsibilities

- Providing warm, knowledgeable and personalised customer service in store

- Negotiating purchases confidently and professionally

- Understanding of gold and jewellery buying, selling and loaning

- Building trust and rapport with clients, particularly when handling sentimental or inherited pieces

- Responding to online enquiries and assisting with digital sales

- Supporting online collection launches, new arrivals and in-store events

- Assisting with opening and closing procedures and general day-to-day store operations

About you

- Strong customer service and communication skills

- Comfortable using and appearing on social media

- Comfortable discussing higher-value purchases with customers

- Ability to build genuine relationships with current and returning clients

- Reliable, organised and comfortable working both independently and as part of a small team

- Comfortable using technology and learning new systems

- Familiarity with Shopify or similar retail/POS systems is advantageous but not essential





- Professional presentation

- Confident, warm and well-spoken, with excellent people skills and the ability to make customers feel informed and at ease

- An interest in vintage jewellery and a knowledge of the gold buying industry is highly regarded, with previous experience in high ticket or luxury sales being advantageous

We are now taking an exciting step and opening our first brick-and-mortar VJC store in Moonee Ponds. We pride ourselves on providing a professional, welcoming and trustworthy experience for every client, and as a quickly growing business, we're looking for someone who is happy to be hands-on and get involved across different areas of the store. With many years in the jewellery and gold industry, we are looking for a full-time team member requiring Saturday availability, to become an integral part in this next stage of the business.
