About Kantra

Kantra Copper (ASX:KAN) is a growing ASX-listed Australian copper producer with its heart in South Australia. Kantra has operated since 2005 and completed open-pit mining at Kanmantoo in 2020. In 2023 we commenced development of our underground mine and in 2024 completed our transition to underground copper production.

Our operation is well capitalised with a 3–3.6Mtpa processing plant, with permitted surface infrastructure in place. Kantra is also testing the next suite of high-potential targets. In addition to the Kanmantoo operation, we have a large land holding of granted Exploration Licences in South-eastern South Australia, which are highly prospective for the discovery of economic copper deposits within a variety of geological settings (“Southeastern Copper Project”).

Kantra supplies critical minerals for a sustainable future, backed by long-standing environmental stewardship and strong stakeholder relationships. The Opportunity

Want to do HR where the decisions are made and the work gets done? Join our small HR team at the Kanmantoo Copper Mine and work directly with the supervisors and employees who keep a 24-hour operation running.

Reporting to the Human Resources Superintendent, you’ll take ownership of day-to-day HR matters in a broad, hands-on Business Partner role. You’ll provide a proactive, practical corporate service by coaching leaders, helping resolve issues early and fairly, and improving the processes that support our workforce. You’ll have the Superintendent’s support on complex or higher-risk matters.

This is a permanent, full-time role based on site at Kanmantoo. You’ll wear steel-capped boots and high-vis each day, with a uniform provided. Early starts and finishes help us connect with teams across their shifts. Compressed hours may be considered by agreement, provided the role’s site coverage needs are met.

Our HR team wears many hats. Alongside core HR work, you’ll contribute to community engagement, Kantra’s brand and social media activities, adding variety and scope to the role.

Based in the Adelaide Hills, Kanmantoo offers a excellent local lifestyle with the convenience of being only 55mins from the Adelaide CBD, 25mins from Mount Barker and 30mins from Murray Bridge.

Key Responsibilities





- Build trusted relationships with supervisors and provide practical HR advice and coaching.
- Support fair, timely management of performance, conduct, attendance and workplace concerns.
- Prepare clear employment documentation and guide leaders on routine employment conditions and HR processes.
- Support workforce planning, development, recruitment and the employee lifecycle.
- Work with employees, supervisors and relevant specialists on injury management and return to work arrangements.
- Contribute to community engagement, brand and social media activities across the Kantra group.
- Improve HR systems, workforce reporting and everyday processes.

About You

You are an experienced HR generalist or Business Partner who enjoys being close to the operation. You build credibility with supervisors, handle sensitive matters with care and can turn sound HR advice into steps that work on site. You are comfortable taking ownership, balancing competing priorities and knowing when a matter needs to be escalated.

To be eligible for this role, you will need

- A tertiary qualification in HR, industrial relations, business or a related field, or substantial relevant generalist HR experience.
- Experience advising and coaching operational leaders on employee relations, performance and the employee lifecycle.
- Working knowledge of Australian employment legislation and up-to-date awards.
- Strong communication, documentation and Microsoft 365 skills.
- A current, valid Australian Class C driver’s licence.
- Willingness to complete and maintain an underground induction, with occasional visits to understand site roles, accompany tour guests and/or support staff.
- Availability to attend occasional 6 am and 7 am pre-start meetings
- Experience using HR systems and maintaining accurate, confidential employee records.

Highly regarded for the role

- Experience in mining, resources or another safety-focused operational environment.
- Experience improving HR workflows and reporting, particularly in Employment Hero.
- Experience supporting formal investigations, workplace change or workforce planning.




- Experience managing workers' compensation claims and return-to-work or Return-to-Work Coordinator training.
- Experience in community engagement or stakeholder liaison.
