These permanent positions would suit educators looking to relocate within Queensland, move interstate or take the next step in their teaching or leadership career from Term 1, 2027.

Schools understand the practical considerations involved in relocating and offer different forms of assistance. Depending on the school and location, support may include contributions towards relocation costs, assistance with securing accommodation or ongoing rental contributions.

Multiple full-time, permanent classroom teaching and leadership positions are available.

Teaching opportunities are available across a broad range of subject areas, including:

- Mathematics

- English

- Science

- Humanities

- Health and Physical Education

- Technologies

- The Arts

- Languages

- Learning Support and Inclusive Education

Leadership opportunities are also available and may include:





- Heads of Department

- Curriculum and Teaching and Learning leadership

- Student Wellbeing and Pastoral leadership

- Learning Support and Inclusive Education leadership

- Other middle and senior leadership positions

Successful candidates appointed to a leadership position will receive a leadership allowance in addition to their teaching salary. The value of this allowance will depend on the level of responsibility attached to the position and the salary structure of the individual school.

Exact teaching loads, leadership responsibilities, year levels and subject combinations will vary between schools. HARKE will work with each candidate to understand their experience, preferred location and career goals before discussing suitable opportunities.

Skills and Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the Australian Curriculum and relevant Queensland senior secondary requirements.

- Develop effective learning programs, assessments and classroom resources.

- Maintain high standards of student safeguarding, wellbeing and professional practice.

- Monitor student progress and provide meaningful feedback to support continued development.

- Communicate clearly with students, families, colleagues and school leaders.

- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning, assessment, moderation and school programs.





- Provide effective leadership within a department, curriculum area or broader school portfolio where applicable.

- Contribute positively to the wider life and community of the school.

Requirements

Teaching Areas: Classroom teaching candidates must be qualified and confident teaching at least one secondary subject area.

Leadership Experience: Leadership applicants should have relevant middle or senior leadership experience, or demonstrate strong readiness to progress into a leadership position.

Registration: Candidates must hold or be eligible to obtain teacher registration with the Queensland College of Teachers.

School Alignment: Some positions may require applicants to support a Catholic or Christian school ethos. Any specific faith requirements will be discussed before candidates are presented to a school.

Work Rights: Candidates must hold appropriate Australian working rights.

Safeguarding: Applicants must provide two current referees and complete HARKE’s onboarding process to meet safeguarding requirements.
