About the role

Dental 187 Fullarton in Dulwich is seeking an experienced Dental Hygienist to join our friendly and professional team on a contract basis, providing maternity leave cover starting January 2027.

Hours:

- Thursday: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

- Friday: 9:00 am – 1:00 pm

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Dental Hygienist to provide high-quality preventative dental care while working collaboratively with our dentists and wider practice team.

What you'll be doing

- Performing thorough patient assessments, including oral health screenings and risk evaluations

- Providing qualified teeth cleaning, scaling and root planing treatments

- Taking and processing dental radiographs (X-rays) in accordance with radiation safety protocols

- Educating patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventative care and the importance of regular dental maintenance

- Applying preventative treatments such as fluoride and sealants

- Assisting dentists during clinical procedures as required

- Intra oral digital scanning, photography and tooth whitening

- Maintaining accurate and detailed patient records and treatment documentation

- Supporting infection control and sterilisation protocols to ensure a safe clinical environment

- Contributing to patient comfort and building strong patient relationships through professional communication

What we're looking for

- Has relevant qualifications and experience as a Dental Hygienist

- Is registered with the Dental Board of Australia/AHPRA

- Is passionate about preventative dental care and patient education

- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Works well as part of a collaborative dental team

- Is professional, reliable and committed to providing exceptional patient care

- Strong knowledge of oral health science,



periodontal disease and preventative dentistry

- Proficiency in using dental hygiene instruments and intraoral camera technology

- Competence in taking and positioning dental radiographs safely and accurately

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to educate patients effectively

- Professional approach to infection control and health and safety regulations
