About the Role
As aMental Health Support worker inBroome, you will provide 1:1 Mental Health Support to a person with a mental health diagnosis who is accessing our Individualised Community Living Strategy (ICLS) program.
This is acasual position with shifts across Monday to Friday, between 8am - 5pm in which you will help the person being supported access local services and maximise their recovery success.
Successful candidates will have previous experience working 1:1 with people with mental illness or psychosocial disability, strong communication skills and confidence in working independently within the community.
Key Responsibilities
Provide dedicated support to clients with a mental health diagnosis
Work towards client's recovery and community living goals




Coach and encourage independence through daily routines and decision-making
Assist with and empower the client to take control of their daily living
Encourage community access and engagement in local activities
Support capacity building and self-management of lifestyle and wellbeing
Work collaboratively with clinical and mental health support teams
Follow and contribute to individualised support plans
Skills & Experience
Certificate IV in Mental Health (or equivalent experience)
Experience working with people with mental illness or psycho-social disability
Passionate about client outcomes and mental health advocacy
High computer literacy and administration skills
Unrestricted Western Australian driver's licence
Access to a reliable vehicle
A current First Aid and CPR certificate
