About therole:
This role provides a unique prospect to work closely with the CEO, Deputy CEO, Board and executive leadership team to lead strategic planning, strengthen governance and oversight, and support organisational performance across VCAA.
Reporting at a senior level, you will lead a high-performing team and drive work across organisational strategy, governance, assurance, risk, performance, reporting and continuous improvement.
You will play a key role in supporting the organisation in delivering on its strategic priorities and maintaining strong corporate governance practices.
Key accountabilities
In this role, you will:
lead the development, implementation and monitoring of VCAA's organisational strategy and strategic priorities




provide authoritative strategic advice to the CEO, Deputy CEO, Board and executive leadership team
oversee governance, assurance, risk management and performance frameworks
lead the delivery of key organisational projects, reforms and strategic initiatives
support organisational improvement, workforce culture and change initiatives
strengthen accountability, reporting and performance across the organisation
build strong internal collaboration and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
represent VCAA and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders
About VCAA
VCAA is responsible for curriculum, assessment and reporting for Victorian schools and students.
The Authority plays a central role in Victoria's education system and works closely with schools, the Department of Education and other stakeholders to support high-quality outcomes for learners.
The VCAA is a statutory body responsible to the Victorian Minister for Education, serving both government and non-government schools.
In this context, the VCAA is responsible for developing high-quality curriculum and assessment products and services.
The VCAA is a registered foundational and senior secondary awarding body with the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority (VRQA).
As part of its functions, the VCAA develops po licies, criteria and standards for:
curriculum,



assessments and courses for school-aged students
learning, development and assessments which relate to early childhood
The VCAA develops strong relationships with the government, Independent and Catholic school sector, other national and interstate curriculum authorities, academics in the field, teacher/subject associations and, most importantly, with Victorian educators.
All VCAA employees are expected to perform their duties in accordance with relevant legislation, governance requirements, policies and procedures, safety obligations, the Code of Conduct for Victorian public sector employees, and the Victorian Public Sector Values.
