Saint Lucy's Caffé is looking for an experienced Chef and Cook to join our kitchen team in St Lucia.
We're looking for someone who is confident in a busy café kitchen, can work independently when required and, most importantly, can deliver a strong and consistent breakfast service.
Experience matters to us, but we care just as much about finding someone who is reliable, organised and takes pride in the food they send out.
About the role
You'll be working across breakfast and lunch service in a busy café kitchen.
You'll need to be confident running the breakfast section, handling eggs and café-style service, preparing and cooking pasta dishes, pizza preparation and cooking where required, preparing ingredients and completing daily prep, maintaining quality and consistency during service, keeping your section organised and clean, working closely with the rest of the kitchen and front-of-house team, and following food safety and kitchen procedures.
Duties and responsibilities include:
Planning and preparing high-quality Italian dishes in line with the restaurant's menu and service standards
Designing and contributing to menu development, including seasonal dishes and specials
Preparing and cooking food across relevant sections, including pasta, mains, and wood-fired offerings
Monitoring food quality at all stages of preparation, cooking, andpresentationEnsuringproper portion control,



consistency, and timely service during busy periods
Supervising kitchen operations and coordinating with kitchen staff during service
Training and supporting junior kitchen staff as required
Managing stock rotation, food ordering, and kitchen inventory control
Ensuring compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace health and safety requirements
Maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment
To be successful in this role, you will have:
At least 1 - 2 years of relevant full time work experience as a Chef, or comparable experience in a similar role
Relevant qualifications in commercial cookery or hospitality, highly regarded (at least Diploma level)
Strong knowledge of Italian cuisine and contemporary kitchen operations
Experience in high-volume food preparation and service
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and as part of a team
Strong attention to detail, organisation, and food presentation standards
A positive attitude and commitment to quality and consistency
