About the Opportunity
We are seekingthree reliable and hands-on Trades Assistantsto join our Maintenance team atLapunyah Piggery, Queensland.
This is a Casualposition working 50 hours per week, offering overtime and the opportunity to work alongside an experienced Maintenance team.
Roster:
Monday to Thursday:6:00am – 4:00pm
Friday:6:00am – 2:00pm
50 hours per week
Working alongside our experienced Maintenance team, you'll assist with the upkeep and maintenance of site buildings, equipment, machinery and infrastructure, helping to ensure the piggery operates safely and efficiently.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work, is mechanically minded and isn't afraid to get their hands dirty.
Key Responsibilities
In addition to general maintenance duties, you will be responsible for assisting with:
Installation, maintenance and troubleshooting ofpiggery feed systems, controllers and hardware.
Maintenance and servicing ofsmall motors, vehicles, pumps and mechanical equipment.
Arc and MIG welding, fabrication and general repairs.




Plumbing repairs and installations, including poly and EF welding where required.
Disassembly, servicing and assembly oftrash pumps and reticulation pumps.
Installation, operation and troubleshooting ofclimate control systems.
General building and construction maintenance, including basic concreting and repairs.
Working safely at heights and in confined spaces where required.
Maintaining accuratestock control and assisting with purchasingof maintenance parts and equipment.
Keeping the workshop, tools and work areasclean, organised and professional.
Supporting the wider Maintenance team to ensure the piggery's equipment, infrastructure and production systems remain safe, functional and operational.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
Previous experience as aTrades Assistant, Maintenance Assistant, Farm Hand, Laboureror similar hands-on role.
Experience using hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment.
A robust mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
Experience working with machinery or mechanical equipment.
Basic welding or fabrication experience will be highly regarded.
A strong work ethic and reliable approach to work.
The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.




A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
A current Australian Driver's Licence – essential.
Reliable transport to and from the site.
The ability to undertake physically demanding work in both indoor and outdoor environments.
Mandatory Requirements
Applicants must:
Hold acurrent Australian Driver's Licence and have reliable transport.
Successfully complete apre-employment Medical Assessment, including Drug & Alcohol screening.
Be willing to work within apiggery environmentand comply with all biosecurity and animal welfare requirements.
Be physically capable of performing the requirements of the role.
Be available to work the required Monday to Friday roster.
