About the role
12-month contract is available for a Graduate or Junior Biochemist to join a specialised production and purification laboratory.
Working from established protocols, you will assist with the synthesis, purification and characterisation of deuterium-labelled molecules.
This role would suit a recent graduate looking to build practical laboratory experience while working with advanced analytical instruments.
Duties
Synthesise deuterium-labelled molecules using established methods
Purify and characterise molecules using laboratory techniques
Operate chromatography, MS, NMR and IR systems
Maintain and troubleshoot assigned laboratory instruments
Support laboratory operations, documentation,



safety and quality
Skills/experience
Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or a related discipline
Recent graduates are encouraged to apply; Honours is highly regarded
Practical laboratory experience from university, research or industry
Exposure to chromatography, MS, NMR, IR or protein purification
Microbial culture, fermentation or molecular biology experience is desirable
Australian citizenship is essential for site security requirements
