Our valued client is a major recycling facility based in Laverton North, recycling more than 20,000 tonnes of post-consumer high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and polypropylene (PP) plastics every year — the equivalent of more than half a billion plastic milk bottles and food tubs.
We are currently seeking a Forklift Driver / Manual Sorter to join their busy recycling operation on an ongoing basis.
This is a highly hands-on role, with approximately 95% manual sorting and 5% forklift operation, making it ideal for someone who enjoys physical work and is comfortable working in a rapid-paced industrial environment.
THE ROLE:
Monday to Friday
7:00am - 3:00pm
$37.06 per hour casual rate
Ongoing casual position
Consistent work and hours each week
Immediate start available
On-site meet and greet required prior to commencement
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working as part of the recycling production team, your duties will include:
Manually sorting recyclable materials as they come off the production lines
Separating materials and placing them into the correct designated areas
Performing regular manual handling and repetitive tasks
Operating a forklift when required — approximately 5% of the role
Keeping work areas clean, organised and safe
Following workplace health and safety procedures
Working efficiently as part of a busy production team
ABOUT YOU:
This role is physically demanding, so you must be comfortable being on your feet and performing manual handling duties throughout the day.
You must:
Be physically fit, energetic and reliable
Be comfortable standing and performing manual duties for up to 8 hours
Be able to work in a noisy, quick-paced industrial environment
Have excellent verbal communication skills
Have a strong work ethic and positive attitude
Be reliable and committed to ongoing work
Be comfortable performing repetitive manual sorting tasks
REQUIREMENTS:
Current LF Forklift Licence
Own reliable car and valid driver's licence
Full working rights in Australia
Ability to commit to Monday-Friday work
Ability to successfully complete the required in office meet and greet prior to commencement
