Company Description Sydney Grass Volleyball (SGV) is Sydney’s hub for grass volleyball, offering monthly one-day tournaments, weekly social competitions, school coaching programs, and free community events. All programs are centered on growing an inclusive and vibrant volleyball community across the city. SGV welcomes both competitive players focused on performance and individuals seeking a fun, social way to be active outdoors.

As the organization expands suburb by suburb, coaches have the opportunity to help bring grass volleyball to current communities and more players throughout Sydney.

Role Description This is a one-day on-site Volleyball Coach role based in Sydney, NSW.

The Volleyball

Coach will plan and deliver training sessions for players of varying ages and skill levels across tournaments, social competitions, and school programs. Daily responsibilities include teaching core skills and game strategies, leading drills and warm-ups, supervising matches, and ensuring a protected, supportive playing workplace. The role also involves coordinating with SGV staff on scheduling,



event setup, and community activities, and engaging with participants and families to promote ongoing involvement in SGV programs.

Qualifications
Strong volleyball skills and knowledge of game rules, techniques, and strategies.
Coaching and training skills, including session planning and player development.
Communication and education skills for explaining concepts clearly and providing effective feedback.
Experience coaching in club, school, or community sports environments is beneficial.
Relevant coaching certifications or willingness to obtain recognized qualifications.
Ability to work outdoors, manage groups safely, and maintain an inclusive, respectful environment.
Organizational skills for managing schedules, equipment, and event logistics.
Working with Children Check and adherence to all safeguarding and safety guidelines.
