About the position
The Alcohol & Other Drug (AOD) Group Facilitator delivers high quality, evidence based and trauma informed therapeutic day rehabilitation to individuals impacted by alcohol & other drugs.
The Alcohol & Other Drug Group Facilitators are responsible for the coordination, delivery and continuous improvement of the Making A Change (MAC) therapeutic day rehabilitation program across the Grampians and Wimmera region.
This program is targeted at addressing psychosocial causes of alcohol & other drug use for the purpose of sustainable recovery.
This position forms part of the Counselling & AOD team and collaborates with related programs, as requires.
Skills and experience
Qualifications
Minimum Cert IV in Alcohol & Other Drugs (AOD) or related community services discipline.
Relevant qualification in Community Services, Social Work, Counselling or related field.
Desirable
Experience facilitating structured Alcohol & Other Drugs (AOD) group programs.
Solid understanding of Alcohol & Other Drugs (AOD) treatment, harm reduction and behaviour change models.
Experience working with diverse communities, including involuntary clients.
Knowledge of trauma informed practice and cultural safety.
High level group facilitation skills including managing complex dynamics.
Strong assessment and clinical judgement.
