ABURI — Hawthorn East is hiring

We are a current Japanese restaurant opening soon in Hawthorn East.

Our daytime concept focuses on hot aburi-style Japanese rice bowls. We also have a small 4-seat counter space that we may develop into a sushi / Japanese counter experience in the evening.

We are looking for

Sushi Chef / Sushi Cook

Role may include
Sushi / sashimi preparation
Fish preparation and portioning
Rice preparation
Easy nigiri / rolls / aburi-style items
Supporting evening Japanese restaurant & bar menu
Prep, cleaning and kitchen support
Following ABURI recipes, SOPs and food safety procedures

We are looking for someone who:
Has previous sushi or Japanese kitchen experience
Is clean, reliable and organised




Can work in a small team
Can follow systems and portion guides
Is comfortable helping with prep and cleaning
Has valid working rights in Australia

Job type Casual / Part time to start

Potential for more hours later depending on performance and business needs

Pay

Negotiable depending on experience, skill level and responsibilitie
