About the Role

As a Consultant Ophthalmologist, you will be responsible for delivering specialist eye care through four outpatient clinics and two operating lists per week. You will perform general ophthalmology assessments, YAG and Argon laser treatments, and participate in the on-call roster (1 night per week, 1 weekend in 4). Your role will include teaching and mentoring junior doctors and contributing to ongoing quality improvement and service development.

You'll also play a vital role in patient-focused multidisciplinary care planning and provide timely, expert clinical advice to colleagues and the wider team. This is a rewarding role in which your skills and voice will be valued and impactful.

About you To succeed in this role, you will bring:
Vocational or Provisional Vocational Registration in Ophthalmology with the Medical Council of New Zealand
Experience in general ophthalmology and familiarity with up-to-date investigative and treatment techniques
A current Annual Practicing Certificate
A collaborative and compassionate approach to patient care
