Our Youth Services team supports young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness through crisis accommodation, case management and therapeutic support.
We work from a trauma-informed and Psychologically Informed Environment (PIE) framework, helping young people develop the confidence and life skills needed to live independently and achieve their goals.

About the roleAs an After-Hours Youth Support Worker, you'll play a vital role in creating a safe and nurturing environment where young people can thrive.
You'll become a trusted and consistent presence during after-hours periods, supporting young people through challenges, celebrating their achievements, and empowering them towards independence.Reporting to the Client Services Coordinator, this is a permanent part-time opportunity, 27.5 hours per week, based on-site in Shepparton, VIC ConditionsCompensation is in accordance with SCHADS Award Level 3.
How you'll make an impactCreate a protected,



supportive and inclusive environment for young people in crisis accommodationBuild positive relationships based on respect, trust and professional boundariesSupport young people to develop everyday independent living skills, including cooking, hygiene, budgeting and caring for shared spacesAssist residents to engage with education, employment, housing, health and community servicesWork within the Journey to Independence Model and trauma-informed practice frameworksIdentify risks, respond to incidents and contribute to a safe service environmentParticipate in handovers and collaborate closely with the broader support teamProvide outreach support to young people accessing the service What you'll bringWe're looking for someone who is compassionate, resilient and committed to helping young people overcome challenges and reach their potential:A minimum Diploma qualification in Community Services, Youth Work, Social Services or a related fieldExperience working within community services, youth services, homelessness, residential care or a similar support environmentAn understanding of trauma-informed practice and Psychologically Informed Environments (PIE)Strong communication and relationship-building skillsThe ability to remain calm,
