The company you'll join
Our client is a global leader in fishing tackle, behind a portfolio of household-name brands that anglers across Australia know and trust.
Their Central Coast office is the hub for the Asia Pacific region.
This is a business that competes hard.
Its brands are challengers in their categories, and the team wins by working closely with retailers and fighting for every metre of shelf space.
Innovation drives growth.
Around 40% of revenue now comes from new products each year, up from 20% in ****, and hundreds of new lines are ranged into major retailers each season.
The business is private equity backed and growing steadily each year, with a sharp focus on profitability and a push into new channels.
The Sales Director has personally looked after these accounts since the last National Account Manager moved on.
The **** plans are already built with the buyers, so you step into a well-run portfolio with clear direction rather than a rescue job.
Career paths are real here.
Past hires have grown from analyst roles into sales leadership, and there are opportunities across larger accounts, future sales management roles, the wider APAC business and overseas.
The impact you'll make
You will own a portfolio of national retail accounts, led by one of Australia's largest outdoor retailers, which will be the major focus of your time.

Alongside it sit a warehouse club, a growing marine retailer and a major online marketplace where the business is building its Australian strategy.
Your accounts run like your own business.
You will have your own P&L; and budgets, and you will be accountable for top-line revenue and invoice margin.
You will work with head office buyers and category teams to plan ranging, promotions and new product launches across the full product range, from rods, reels and combos through to bait, lures and apparel.
You will feed insight from the category back into the business, spotting opportunities, working out price points and helping shape the products that go to market.
You will coordinate with a team of field reps and merchandisers who run in-store programs across the retailer's highest performing stores.
You will work closely with marketing, supply chain, finance, demand planning and customer service to deliver on your plans.
You will report to the Sales Director and be based out of the Central Coast office, with travel to Melbourne every four to six weeks for a couple of days, a few day trips to Sydney each year, and two busy weeks around trade shows and business reviews in August and September.
The experience you'll bring
You bring either a background in outdoor, fishing or sporting retail, as a buyer, category manager or hands-on store manager, or a few years of key or national account management with a supplier that wins on relationships and effort rather than the strength of its logo.
You know fishing well enough to hold your own with buyers who live and breathe it.
The categories and the lingo come naturally to you.
You are straight talking, down to earth, ambitious and keen to learn.
The Sales Director invests heavily in coaching people who put their hand up.
You live within easy reach of the Central Coast and are comfortable with regular interstate travel, typically a couple of days in Melbourne every four to six weeks.
