Senior Sous Chef – South Yarra Bistro

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Senior Sous Chef to join our busy bistro venue in South Yarra.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on chef who enjoys working in a high-volume workplace and is ready to take on a key leadership role within the kitchen.

About the Role
Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen
Lead and motivate the kitchen team during busy service periods
Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation and consistency
Assist with menu development and seasonal specials
Manage kitchen operations, including prep, service and close-down
Ensure food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety standards are maintained
Assist with ordering, stock control and wastage management
Train and mentor junior chefs and kitchen staff
Help maintain a positive,



organised and professional kitchen environment

About You
Previous experience as a Senior Sous Chef or Sous Chef in a busy bistro, restaurant or high-volume venue
Solid leadership and communication skills
Excellent time management and organisational skills
Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure
Strong understanding of food safety and kitchen procedures
A hands-on approach with a passion for quality food
Flexibility to work across a range of shifts, including evenings and weekends
