About the role

Rex J Andrews is seeking an experienced and motivated SA Operations Manager to join our growing team. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for coordinating transport operations, drivers, subcontractors, compliance, permits, fleet scheduling, customer requirements, and workplace safety across South Australia. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring all operational activities are delivered safely, efficiently, compliantly, and to the highest professional standard within the heavy haulage and transport industry.

This role requires a strong leader with excellent organisational skills, industry knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.

Key responsibilities
Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, subcontractors, and stakeholders
Identify opportunities for business growth and operational expansion
Assist with pricing, quotations, and tender submissions
Coordinate daily transport operations to meet customer and project requirements
Allocate work schedules for drivers and subcontractors
Ensure compliance with fatigue management, legal driving hours, NHVAS/WAHVA, and load restraint requirements
Manage company drivers and subcontractors




Ensure all drivers maintain required inductions, passes, and permits
Promote and maintain a solid safety culture
Apply for oversize/over mass permits and clearances

About you
Previous experience in transport, logistics, or heavy haulage operations management
Strong understanding of NHVAS/WAHVA and fatigue management compliance
Knowledge of load restraint and oversize/over mass transport regulations
Experience coordinating drivers, subcontractors, and fleet scheduling
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
Ability to work autonomously and under pressure
Competent computer and administration skills
Current Driver's Licence
White Card
WHS knowledge and understanding
Heavy vehicle industry OSOM experience
