Southern Dental Specialists & Implant Centre is a specialist prosthodontic practice in the heart of Wollongong. Our team provides advanced restorative and implant care, including dental implants, All-on-X treatment, full-mouth rehabilitation, smile makeovers and care for patients with complex dental needs.

Our prosthodontists are university-trained specialists, supported by an experienced clinical and administrative team and our in-house dental laboratory. We take time to listen, explain treatment clearly and help every patient feel informed and supported throughout their care.

The Opportunity:
n
We are seeking a warm, skilled and detail-focused Dental Hygienist to join our growing team. This role is well suited to someone who enjoys building trusted patient relationships, working closely with clinicians and delivering accurate care to a consistently high standard.
n
You will play an important role in supporting the long-term health of our patients, particularly those who have completed complex restorative or implant treatment. You will have the opportunity to work within a specialist environment where prevention, education, maintenance and continuity of care are genuinely valued.

What you will be doing:
n
n
Providing comprehensive hygiene and preventive care within your professional scope
n
Supporting periodontal health and the ongoing maintenance of natural teeth, restorations and dental implants
n
Educating patients with clear, practical and individualized oral hygiene advice
n
Working collaboratively with our prosthodontists, dental assistants,



treatment coordinators and laboratory team
n
Maintaining accurate clinical records and following infection prevention, clinical governance and practice protocols
n
Helping anxious patients feel safe, respected and comfortable during their appointments
n
Contributing to a positive team culture and a consistently excellent patient experience
n

What we are looking for
n
n
Current AHPRA registration as a Dental Hygienist or Oral Health Therapist with an adult scope relevant to the role
n
A patient-centered approach, strong communication skills and genuine empathy
n
Excellent clinical standards, attention to detail and commitment to evidence-based care
n
Confidence working independently while also contributing as part of a close-knit team
n
Professionalism, reliability and sound clinical judgement
n
Experience with implant maintenance, periodontal care or specialist dentistry is highly regarded, but not essential for the right person.
