Job Description

This is an opportunity for candidates with experience operating front-end loaders, skid steer loaders (Bobcats) or excavators to join a busy recycling yard in Mackay Harbour. You will initially complete general yard duties while learning the site, materials, safety procedures and daily operations.

Key responsibilities n

Completing general yard duties and material handling

n

Sorting and grading recyclable metals

n

Loading and unloading trucks, skip bins and trailers

n

Operating a counterbalance forklift

n

Operating front-end loaders, skid stew loaders or excavators

n

Assisting with dismantling and preparing materials for recycling

n

Providing positive customer service to customers entering the site

n

Learning site procedures and safe machinery operations

n

Keeping the yard clean, secure and organised

n

Following all WHS policies and procedures

About you n





A current ticket for at least one of the following: forklift, front-end loader, skid steer loader (Bobcat) or excavator

n

Previous experience operating at least one of these machines

n

Mechanically minded with a willingness to learn other machinery

n

Comfortable working outdoors in a busy recycling yard

n

Strong commitment to workplace safety

n

Reliable, punctual and hardworking

n

Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team

n

$43.64 per hour

n

Monday-to-Friday roster

n

Regular overtime hours and paid accordingly

n
