Registrar – Emergency Medicine (Regional Hospital)

Employment Type: Fixed Term Full time / Part-Time

Salary: $122,264 – $182,143 per year

Start Date: 2026 (Term 3 & 4) and 2027 onwards

About the Role An excellent opportunity exists for Emergency Medicine Registrars to join a high-acuity regional service in Central Australia. The Emergency Department manages ~50,000 presentations annually, offering exposure to complex adult and paediatric cases rarely seen elsewhere.

You will work in a supportive, consultant-led setting, developing skills in resuscitation, acute care, and clinical leadership. Strong supervision and teaching support progression toward independent decision-making and procedural competence.

Rotational opportunities include ICU, Paediatrics, Anaesthetics, Retrieval, Aboriginal Health, Alcohol & Other Drugs, and Palliative Care, supporting broad clinical development.

Key Responsibilities
Manage emergency presentations across diverse acuity
Lead and assist in resuscitation and critical care
Participate in teaching, simulation,



and clinical reviews
Supervise junior staff and contribute to team leadership
Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
Maintain accurate clinical documentation

Essential Criteria
AHPRA registration (or eligibility)
ACEM or relevant training pathway eligibility
Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Commitment to culturally safe, patient-centred care
