What We Are Looking For

We are seeking a support worker who:
Has previous experience working with complex behaviours and high support needs
Is confident supporting participants who may display challenging or unpredictable behaviours
Can remain calm and composed during difficult situations
Has excellent communication skills
Is patient, respectful and non-judgemental
Can follow a participant's Behaviour Support Plan and Individualised Support Plan
Understands positive behaviour support and the importance of using the least restrictive approach
Can identify and report changes in behaviour, incidents and risks appropriately
Is able to complete detailed and accurate shift notes and incident reports
Is reliable, punctual and consistent
Can work independently while also communicating effectively with the broader support team
Is comfortable supporting community access and planned activities
Has positive situational awareness and understands the importance of participant and community safety
Is willing to complete all required training and follow Armistice Services policies and procedure

Autism and intellectual disability
Psychosocial disability
Community participation
One-on-one support
Behaviour escalation and de-escalation
Following Behaviour Support Plans
Incident reporting and detailed shift documentation
Working as part of a multidisciplinary support team

Essential Requirements Applicants must have, or be willing to obtain where applicable:
NDIS Worker Screening Check
Blue Card
National Police Check
First Aid Certificate
CPR Certificate
NDIS Worker Orientation / required NDIS training
Current Australian driver's licence
Reliable vehicle and appropriate vehicle insurance
Right to work in Australia
Relevant disability support qualifications or experience

A Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or higher qualification is desirable. Pay: $38.00 – $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 24.0 per week
