Accounts Officer

An exciting opportunity has become available to join a growing construction SME in a newly created and varied finance and administration position.
n
This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats and wants to become an integral part of a close-knit business. You will support payroll, accounts payable, bookkeeping and project administration, with the chance to take on greater responsibility as you develop within the role.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Process weekly payroll for approximately 30 employees and ***** subcontractors
n
Coordinate employee and subcontractor onboarding
n
Process accounts payable and maintain accurate supplier records
n
Complete bank and account reconciliations
n
Assist with month-end processes and BAS and IAS preparation
n
Maintain accurate financial records in Xero
n
Raise purchase orders and process daily labour and material dockets
n
Assist with stocktakes and management of the asset register
n
Support project managers and supervisors with project documentation
n




Provide general project and office administration supportAssist with project costing, progress claims and retentions where required
n

About You
n
n
Previous experience across payroll, accounts payable, bookkeeping or finance administration
n
Strong working knowledge of Xero
n
Experience within construction, trades or an SME environment would be highly regarded
n
Exposure to project costing, progress claims or retentions would be advantageous
n
Comfortable balancing transactional finance with general administration
n
Proactive, flexible and willing to assist wherever needed
n
Organised, dependable and able to work autonomously
n
Experience using LiveCosts, Hubdoc or Synchronise would be beneficial but is not essential
n
