Behaviour Support Practitioner/ Psychotherapist

We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support
Practitioner/Psychotherapist
to join our team in Sydney, New South Wales. This permanent, full-time role is crucial in providing high-quality mental health support and behaviour management strategies to individuals in need. The successful candidate will play a vital role in enhancing the wellbeing of clients, ensuring they receive tailored interventions that promote positive behavioural change and emotional resilience.

Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify clients' behavioural and emotional needs.

Develop and implement individualised behaviour support plans in collaboration with clients and their families.
n
Provide therapeutic interventions, including counselling and psychotherapy, to support clients in achieving their goals.

Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of behaviour support strategies, making adjustments as necessary.
n
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including healthcare professionals and educators, to ensure holistic support for clients.

Maintain accurate and confidential client records in accordance with organisational policies and legal requirements.
n
Provide training and support to families and caregivers on behaviour management techniques.
n
Stay updated with the latest research and best practices in behaviour support and psychotherapy.

Qualifications:

A relevant degree in psychology, social work, or a related field.
n
Postgraduate qualifications in psychotherapy or behaviour support are highly desirable.
n
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferable within the health and safety sector.
n
Demonstrated knowledge of behaviour management strategies and therapeutic techniques.
n
Robust interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
n
Proficiency in assessment and evaluation methods.
n
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
n
Current registration with a relevant professional body (e.g., AHPRA, PACFA) is preferred.
