An opportunity is available for an experienced Payroll Officer to join a Queensland Government department supporting essential community services. Working across a large and complex workforce environment, you will be part of a collaborative team responsible for delivering accurate and timely payroll services while supporting operational teams across a range of locations.
Key Responsibilities
Process payroll transactions and maintain accurate employee records
Manage timesheet variations, overtime, leave requests, and roster-related payroll adjustments
Ensure payroll approvals are accurate and completed within required timeframes
Provide advice and support to employees and managers regarding payroll matters
Liaise with internal stakeholders to resolve payroll discrepancies and ensure compliance
Maintain knowledge of relevant awards, agreements, legislation, and policies
Prepare reports and analyse workforce data to support operational decision-making
Utilise payroll, HR,
and rostering systems to ensure data integrity and accuracy
Deliver a high standard of customer service while maintaining confidentiality
About You To be successful, you will demonstrate:
Previous payroll experience within a medium to large organisation
Strong attention to detail and ability to work with high volumes of data
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication abilities
The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
