Our client This is an opportunity to join a highly regarded independent advisory firm that provides M&A; advice to a broad range of clients across the Australian mid-market. On the back of a healthy deal pipeline, the firm is seeking an Analyst to join its Melbourne team.

The opportunity

As an Analyst in the M&A; team, you will support senior advisors across both the origination and execution of transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestment and related strategic advice. Day to day, you will:
Build and maintain financial models and valuation analysis
Prepare transaction documents, including information memoranda and pitch books
Conduct industry, company and market research to support live deals and new business
Liaise with clients, counterparties and other advisers throughout the deal process

Key skills & experience required
1–3 years' foundational experience gained in the deals stream of a BIG 4 or Mid-Tier professional services practice, or a similar boutique advisor
Strong PowerPoint skills and the ability to produce polished, client-ready materials




Sound commercial judgement and a genuine interest in markets, companies and deal-making
A strong work ethic and the resilience to perform under tight deadlines during busy deal periods
A team-oriented, team-first approach suited to a lean deal team environment
Initiative and a willingness to take on responsibility early in your career
Progress towards, or completion of, CA, CFA or a similar qualified qualification (desirable but not essential)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to engage with internal and external stakeholders
A high level of attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple workstreams
