Lead Barista – Early Birdie Drive Thru, Bundoora

Early Birdie is our drive-thru café at Swing & Serve on Plenty Road, Bundoora. We have a loyal local following, busy mornings and plenty of regulars who appreciate good coffee and a familiar face.

We’re looking for an experienced barista to take the lead and run the café day to day. Someone who sees a future in hospitality, enjoys getting to know their customers and wants a say in how the place operates.

You’ll be hands-on making coffee, serving customers and working alongside the team, with support from owners who operate several hospitality venues.

What you’ll be doing
Making consistently great coffee and keeping service moving through the morning rush.
Getting to know our regulars and making current customers feel welcome.
Keeping the café organised, clean and stocked.
Looking after day-to-day stock ordering and preparation.
Helping the team work well together and maintain a consistent standard.
Bringing ideas to improve the menu, service and customer experience.

About you





You have at least two years’ previous barista experience and are confident on a commercial coffee machine, adjusting the grind and texturing milk.

You’re reliable, friendly and comfortable taking initiative. You notice what needs doing, communicate well and take pride in leaving things ready for the next shift.

Previous experience leading a café is welcome, but we’re also keen to hear from a robust barista ready to take that next step.

Early starts are part of the role, with opening shifts beginning at 5am, so you’ll need a reliable way to get to Bundoora.
