As the Deputy Director, Estate Planning & Capital Delivery, you will occupy a pivotal senior leadership role within the Estate and Built Environment (EBE) Directorate, serving as a primary architect of the University's physical future. This executive position offers a unique dual leadership challenge, overseeing two interdependent streams: Estate Planning and Project Delivery. You will be accountable for a structured pipeline that begins with deep strategic engagement with academic and administrative divisions and culminates in the rigorous management of a diverse capital expenditure program.
By bridging the gap between strategic intent and physical outcomes, you will ensure that UNE's estate is demand-led, financially sustainable, and expertly delivered, reporting directly to the Director, Infrastructure Services.
About you
Seasoned executive leader with proven ability to bridge high-level strategic vision and technical execution
Extensive experience in capital asset management and project delivery, ideally managing portfolios in the $5M–$50M range
Integrated mindset required to balance long-term estate planning with rigour of construction management
Sophisticated communicator, capable of navigating complex governance structures and translating diverse stakeholder needs into well-evidenced, investable proposals
Champion of innovation, ready to lead adoption of AI and digital technologies in the workplace
Ability to mentor a high-performing team in a spirit of kindness and accountability
Appropriate full time Australian work rights for the duration of this position
About us The Estate and Built Workplace (EBE) Directorate is responsible for the strategic planning, capital development, asset management, and operational services across UNE's property portfolio. EBE is part of the Chief Operating Officer's Portfolio and comprises the units of Finance and Administration, Capital and Asset Management, and Facilities and Operational Services.
