About the Opportunity
AQMN is looking for a talentedCommercial Lawyerto join our Canberra team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career lawyer with approximately2–5 years' post-admission experiencewho is looking to broaden their legal experience, work closely with senior leadership and support a diverse range of clients.
You will be based in ourCanberra office, working directly with senior leadership and supporting AQMN's clients across a variety of legal and advisory matters.

While relevant experience is valued, we believe areas of law can be taught.
We're looking for someone who is curious, commercially minded, personable and genuinely keen to learn, contribute and grow with the team.
What You'll Be Doing
Provide legal advice and support across a variety of client matters
Conduct legal research and prepare clear, practical written advice
Draft and review contracts, correspondence and other legal documentation
Assist with commercial and regulatory matters
Work directly with clients and build strong professional relationships
Collaborate closely with senior lawyers and the broader AQMN team
Develop your capability across new areas of law through hands‐on experience and mentoring
About You
Admission as a lawyer in the ACT
Approximately2–5 years' post-admission experience




Strong written and verbal communication skills
Sound judgement and excellent attention to detail
A practical and solutions‐focused approach
Confidence engaging with clients and colleagues
A willingness to learn and work across different areas of law
A positive, collaborative attitude and strong interpersonal skills
Experience in one or more of the following areas would be preferable but is not mandatory:
Commercial law
Litigation and dispute resolution
Security Clearance
An existing Australian Government security clearance isnot required.
For the right candidate, AQMN can support and sponsor the security clearance process where required.
