Casual Medical Receptionist – Melbourne CBD

We are a busy, well-established general practice in the heart of Melbourne CBD, and we're looking for a warm, reliable and organised Medical Receptionist to join our front-of-house team on a casual basis.

About the Role

You'll be the first point of contact for our patients — in person and on the phone — and a key part of keeping the clinic running smoothly each day.

Your responsibilities will include
Welcoming and assisting patients in a professional, friendly manner
Managing incoming calls, appointment bookings and patient enquiries
Processing billing, including Medicare and private payments
General reception and administrative duties
Supporting the Practice Manager and GPs with daily clinic operations
Maintaining patient confidentiality and accurate records at all times

About You

You will thrive in this role if you are:
Reliable, well organised and self-motivated
Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team in a rapid-paced environment
Able to juggle multiple tasks and competing priorities with a calm, can-do approach
Compassionate and respectful towards patients from all walks of life,



including those experiencing mental health challenges or drug dependency
A transparent communicator with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills

What Will Help You Stand Out
At least 12 months' experience in medical reception, or a background in healthcare
Experience with Best Practice practice management software
A current CPR certificate (or willingness to obtain one)

Full training will be provided to the right candidate.
