We are seeking an experienced and reliable Assistant Practice Manager to join our busy medical centre as the second-in-charge.

Working closely with the Practice Manager, you will help oversee the clinic’s day-to-day operations, support the reception and clinical teams, and ensure patients receive skilled and friendly service. You will also take responsibility for the clinic when the Practice Manager is unavailable.

Key responsibilities include
Supporting the Practice Manager with the daily operation of the clinic
Providing guidance, training and support to reception staff
Coordinating staff workflows, breaks and daily task allocation
Managing patient concerns and complaints professionally
Monitoring appointment queues and patient waiting times
Ensuring nurse appointments and treatment-room bookings are scheduled correctly
Supporting communication between doctors, nurses and reception staff
Ensuring consulting rooms and shared areas are properly maintained




Assisting with billing, Medicare, private fees and general administration
Helping maintain clinic policies, procedures and accreditation requirements
Opening or closing the clinic when required
Performing reception duties and providing practical support during busy periods

The successful applicant will be approachable, organised and confident managing a busy medical practice. You must be comfortable providing direction to staff, resolving day-to-day issues and taking initiative when the Practice Manager is not onsite. Previous medical reception or general practice experience is required. Experience using Best Practice and previous supervisory or management experience will be highly regarded.

Pay: $52,880.00 – $75,000.00 per year
