Fresh Fish Co is seeking aSales Assistant/Fish Filleterto join our team in Newstead, QLD.
This is acasual positionthat offers flexibility whilst contributing to our daily operations in the retail and seafood sector.
You will play a key role in delivering excellent customer service whilst also developing valuable skills in fish preparation and filleting.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in a dynamic retail environment with hands-on involvement in product preparation.
Key responsibilities
Providing exceptional customer service and assistance to clients selecting fresh seafood products
Accurately filleting, trimming and preparing fish to the highest quality standards
Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the shop and preparation areas in accordance with food safety regulations
Operating the till and processing customer transactions accurately
Restocking shelves and displays with fresh products throughout the day
Assisting with stock management and inventory control
Following all food handling and safety procedures to maintain product quality
Supporting team members to ensure smooth daily operations
What we're looking for
Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers
Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety
Physical capability to stand for extended periods and handle repetitive tasks
Willingness to learn current skills,



particularly in fish filleting and seafood preparation
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Reliability and punctuality in a casual working environment
Basic mathematical skills for till operation and stock management
Previous retail or hospitality experience is advantageous but not essential
