Cairns Colonial Club Resort is a self-rated four star low-rise Resort property situated on elevenacres of award-winning tropical gardens. The Resort has 345 rooms with2 Restaurants and bars, three swimming pools and a fully equipped Conference Centre.

We go beyond to keep our guests' experiences positive. As a part of our Maintenance team, you will report directly to our Gardening Supervisor. Your day-to-day responsibilities will be the general maintenance of the gardens at the resort.

Job Description

General maintenance of lawns and gardens around the Resort
n
Soil cultivation, watering, mulching, raking, weeding, edging, pruning, Bed preparation and planting
n
Ensuring gardens, thoroughfares and footpaths are explicit and free from weeds and litter
n
Planting flowers, shrubs, trees and lawns
n




Perform daily maintenance and general upkeep of gardens whilst ensuring minimal disruption to guests.

Other duties as directed by the resorts Maintenance Manager

The successful applicant will display:
n
n
Previous work experience in a similar role withHorticultural qualifications desirable
n
Knowledge of and ability to operate equipment involved in the maintenance of gardens/lawns
n
A reasonable level of fitness – you will be on your feet most of the day and will need to bend and kneel frequently
n
Good knowledge of a wide range of plants
n
Effective communication skills, you will be warm, welcoming, and easy to talk to
n
Flexible availability – you may be required to work weekends and Public Holidays
n
Knowledge of Irrigation systems
