Role: HD Fitter / Heavy Diesel Mechanic – DIDO
Position: Permanent
Pay Rate: $70–$73/hr + Super
Extra: $3/hr Performance Bonus (paid 6 monthly)
Location: Gunnedah, NSW
Hours: 7:7 Roster

The Prospect
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic / HD Fitter to join a major Australian mining services and heavy equipment business in the Gunnedah region.
The Role
Join a team of approximately 6 HD Fitters responsible for maintaining and repairing a large mobile mining fleet.
The role combines workshop and pit-based maintenance, with the majority of work completed in the workshop.
Duties
Service, repair and maintain large-scale mining equipment
Diagnose and fault-find mechanical issues
Complete preventative and scheduled maintenance
Carry out major component change-outs
Perform gearbox overhauls and major mechanical repairs
Work across CAT, Komatsu and Hitachi equipment
Identify faults and return equipment to service efficiently
Work independently while supporting the wider maintenance team
Meet daily and weekly maintenance targets
Maintain high safety,



reliability and workmanship standards

CAT D9 & D11 Dozers
CAT 777F Water Carts
CAT 793C & 793D Haul Trucks
CAT 854K Wheel Dozer
CAT 988H Loader
CAT 16M & 24M Graders
Hitachi EX**** Excavator
What We're Looking For
Essential:
Trade-qualified Heavy Diesel / Plant Mechanic
Certificate of Proficiency
Order 43 / NSW Coal Board Medical
Proven experience maintaining large-scale mining equipment
Strong mechanical diagnostics and fault-finding skills
