We are seeking a proactive and team-oriented SHEQ Advisor to support terminal operations by driving a strong safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and continuously improving risk management systems.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys being visible on site, partnering with operational teams, and providing expert safety guidance.

About the Role

As the SHEQ Advisor, you will work closely with operations, maintenance, engineering, and leadership teams to ensure safety systems and standards are effectively implemented and maintained.

You will play a key role in supporting compliance, improving safety performance, and promoting best practice across the site.

Key Responsibilities
Provide SHEQ governance and support to Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering teams
Review and assist with risk assessments, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and Secure Work Method Statements (SWMS)
Conduct regular site inspections and safety walkarounds
Identify hazards and develop corrective action plans
Investigate incidents and support injury management and return-to-work processes
Maintain safety registers and reporting systems (e.g., risk register,



hazardous chemicals, waste)
Support contractor management processes
Facilitate WHSE meetings
Assist with internal and external audits
Support emergency response planning and drills
Contribute to SHE improvement projects aligned with broader safety strategy

What we are looking for:

Essential:
3–5 years’ experience in an operational or HSEQ role
Solid understanding of workplace safety legislation and compliance requirements
Experience conducting investigations and audits

Highly Regarded:
Experience in a major hazard facility
Background in chemical, fuel, or similar high-risk industries
Engineering qualification (Chemical or Mechanical preferred)
Certificate or Diploma in WHS (or willingness to obtain)
Return-to-Work Coordinator certification
TAE qualification
