Recruitment Engineering Services (RES) is partnering with Queensland Rail to find a Principal Telecommunications Engineer for its embedded ETCS Alliance team in Brisbane.
This is a senior technical authority role, providing specialist engineering and technical leadership on the telecommunications data networks that carry ETCS across the QR network, including Cross River Rail.
What you'll do
Provide strategic technical leadership and advice to business groups, technical staff and stakeholders on ETCS network engineering
Make sure standards and procedures are documented and applied in line with QR quality assurance and improvement principles
Monitor and influence ETCS CRR telecommunications data system projects, making sure performance is delivered at competitive cost and integration into the QR data network doesn't compromise reliability, availability or maintainability
Lead technical training and competency development for telecommunications office and field staff
What you'll bring
Extensive knowledge of LAN/WAN data communications and physical network security, ideally in a large transport, logistics or critical infrastructure workplace
Robust OT and MPLS experience
Robust skills in the design, configuration, construction, auditing, commissioning, integration and documentation of telecommunications network systems
Deep understanding of telecommunications performance and integration principles, with robust analytical and problem solving skills
Proven ability to give skilled advice, lead technical teams and build capability in technical and non-technical people
Strong influencing and negotiation skills, with the ability to drive accountability for performance and compliance
Australian working rights
Desireable
Experience in rail
Cisco experience in addition to accreditations (CCNA / CCNP)
Firewall experience
Qualifications
Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical/Electronic)
