About the Role
You will manage a portfolio of clients and take responsibility for the preparation, review and finalisation of accounting and taxation work across a broad range of entity structures.
This is a technically focused position with genuine autonomy.
Alongside managing your own work, you'll review work completed by junior accountants,



provide technical guidance and play an important role in developing their capability and confidence.
You'll also communicate directly with clients, respond to queries and liaise with the ATO while ensuring work is delivered accurately and within agreed deadlines.
Responsibilities
Preparing and finalising financial statements and income tax returns
Working across sole traders, partnerships, trusts and companies
Preparing and reviewing BAS, PAYG, GST and FBT obligations
Preparing tax planning calculations and assisting clients with year‐end tax strategies
Working across technical areas including CGT, Division 7A, depreciation, trust distributions and Small Business Entity concessions
Identifying appropriate tax minimisation strategies within Australian taxation requirements
Managing your own workflow and client portfolio
Liaising directly with clients and responding to accounting and taxation queries
Liaising with the ATO and resolving taxation and compliance matters
Reviewing work prepared by junior accountants and providing constructive feedback
Mentoring and developing less experienced team members
Maintaining high standards of technical accuracy and client service
About You
You will have:
A Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business, Accounting or a related discipline
Strong Australian public practice experience across Business Services and Tax
Experience preparing and finalising financial statements and income tax returns across multiple entity types
Solid technical knowledge across CGT, Division 7A, depreciation, trust distributions, SBE concessions and tax planning
Confidence working autonomously across both routine and more complex accounting and taxation matters
Experience reviewing, mentoring or supporting junior accountants
Strong client communication and relationship‐management skills
Advanced Excel skills
Experience with Xero, Xero Practice Manager, FYI Docs and NowInfinity highly regarded
CA or CPA qualification is advantageous but not essential
Strong attention to detail, organisation and ability to manage competing deadlines
