Huawei Australia is hiring a Senior Compliance Officer for supporting the organisation’s compliance management framework and ensuring business activities are conducted in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and internal policies. The role provides practical compliance advice, identifies and manages compliance risks, and works closely with business teams and internal stakeholders.

Job responsibilities:
Monitor changes in Australian laws and regulations and assess their impact on business operations.
Provide practical compliance advice to business teams and management.
Conduct compliance risk assessments and support the development of appropriate controls and mitigation plans.
Develop, review and maintain compliance policies, procedures and guidelines.
Support compliance reviews, internal audits and regulatory reporting activities.
Monitor compliance controls, identify gaps and follow up on corrective actions.
Support the review and investigation of potential compliance breaches, conflicts of interest and misconduct matters.
Develop and deliver compliance training and awareness programs.
Coordinate with Legal, HR, Finance, Procurement and other teams on compliance matters.




Promote a solid culture of integrity, accountability and ethical business conduct.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Finance, Risk Management or a related discipline.
At least five years of relevant experience in compliance, legal, risk management, governance or internal audit.
Positive knowledge of the Australian regulatory and corporate compliance environment.
Experience conducting compliance risk assessments, reviews and investigations.
Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and provide practical business advice.
Robust analytical, communication, report-writing and stakeholder-management skills.
High level of integrity, sound judgement and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience within the ICT, telecommunications or technology industry.
Knowledge of anti-bribery and corruption, privacy, competition, sanctions, export controls or third-party compliance.
Experience engaging with regulators, external advisers or auditors.
Relevant legal, compliance, risk or governance qualifications.
