About the role
This is an exciting chance for an experienced SMSF Accountant to join the team at Smith McCarthy Wilson, a leading accounting and advisory firm located in Warragul, VIC.
Our ideal candidate can be accepted to either a Part-Time or Full-Time position, and we are also flexible in regards to when the candidate will begin (any time from immediate to early in the New Year).
As our in-house Specialist SMSF Accountant, you will play a crucial role in providing strategic financial and compliance services to our growing portfolio of over 200 self‐managed superannuation fund (SMSF) clients.
What you'll be doing
Preparing and lodging SMSF annual tax returns and financial statements
Assisting with SMSF compliance, investment strategies and estate planning
Assisting clients with SMSF establishment, wind‐ups, and rollovers
Liaising with SMSF Auditors throughout the SMSF Audit process
What we're looking for
Experience in SMSF accounting
Comprehensive knowledge of SMSF legislation, regulations and compliance requirements
Familiarity with systems such as BGL Simple Fund 360 (preferred), Class Super or other similar platforms




Excellent communication and client service skills to build trusted relationships
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling sensitive financial information.
Australian work authorisation is required for this position
