The Opportunity
n
We're looking for casual MCR Operators to join our Live Delivery team, working from our Master Control Room (MCR) in Pyrmont.
n
This is a hands-on broadcast operations role focused on monitoring multiple concurrent live broadcast and streaming services.
n
During a shift, you'll work across different customers and live deliverables, following established run sheets and workflows, monitoring service health and ensuring issues are identified and escalated quickly.
n
This role would suit someone with experience or an interest in broadcast, streaming, live production, AV or technical operations who wants hands-on experience in a modern live broadcast environment.
n
You'll gain hands-on experience in a modern live broadcast environment where broadcast operations, streaming and cloud technology come together.

About the Role
n
A typical MCR shift may involve several customers and broadcasts operating simultaneously. You'll need to remain across the schedule, status and requirements of each service while maintaining a high level of attention throughout live delivery.
n
You'll be responsible for:
n




n
Monitoring multiple concurrent live broadcast and streaming services.
n
Following run sheets, workflows and operational procedures.
n
Completing pre-broadcast and scheduled operational checks.
n
Monitoring video, audio, broadcast systems, dashboards and service alerts.
n
Identifying service abnormalities and potential issues.
n
Performing defined first-response checks and recovery actions.
n
Escalating technical faults promptly to the rostered technical support.
n
Providing transparent and accurate information during incidents and escalations.
n
Communicating with customers, production teams and delivery partners where required.
n
Managing multiple customer deliverables and priorities throughout a shift.
n
Maintaining accurate operational logs, incident records and shift handovers.
n
n
You won't be expected to diagnose or resolve complex technical faults. Your role is to monitor, identify, respond and escalated.
n
About You
n
You'll be dependable, attentive and comfortable taking responsibility for live services.
n
Effective broadcast monitoring is more than simply watching screens. You'll need concentration and situational awareness, with the ability to recognise when something isn't right and respond appropriately.

You'll be comfortable managing multiple services at once, following structured processes and communicating clearly when an issue occurs.

You don't need to be a broadcast engineer. More important is your ability to learn our workflows, understand what you're monitoring and respond appropriately when something changes.

Desirable Experience
n
Experience in broadcast, television, live streaming, AV, live events, production, master control or technical operations would be advantageous.
n
Exposure to broadcast monitoring, video and audio workflows, live sporting or event production, streaming platforms or shift-based operational environments would also be beneficial.
n
Shift & Availability Requirements
n
This is a casual, in office role based at our Pyrmont MCR.
n
Our live operations run seven days a week, with these roles predominantly supporting our weekend live event schedule.
n
Shifts may include Saturdays and Sundays, day, evening and night shifts, public holidays and occasional weekday work.
n
We're particularly looking for people who can provide consistent and reliable weekend availability.
