Ramsay Health Care is looking for an experienced
Payroll Automation Lead
to help reshape the way payroll operates across our national business.
n
This is a hands-on opportunity to make a tangible impact — identifying manual processes, designing smarter solutions, improving the use of payroll technology and creating consistent national processes that improve efficiency, accuracy and the employee experience.

About the role n
Ramsay's payroll function operates across multiple state and corporate offices, each with established ways of working. Your role will be to identify opportunities to standardise, simplify and automate these processes, creating a more consistent and efficient national payroll operating model.

You'll work across
Payroll, Technology, Finance, People & Culture and our payroll platform teams
, taking ideas from analysis and requirements through to implementation, testing and benefits realisation.
n
Key areas of focus will include:
n
n
Identifying and eliminating manual payroll processes through automation
n
Mapping current payroll processes across our national payroll offices and designing standardised ways of working
n
Leading automation initiatives from discovery and business case through to implementation and benefit realisation
n
Improving the use and configuration of
Chris21
and the wider payroll technology landscape
n
Identifying opportunities to introduce system-based preventative controls,



validation rules, warnings and exception reporting
n
Writing high-quality functional and technical requirements, business cases and specifications
n
Leading system testing, including regression, parallel and user acceptance testing
n
Analysing payroll and workforce data to identify trends, inefficiencies, risks and opportunities
n
Measuring and reporting the perks delivered through automation and process improvement
n
n
A key priority will be tackling manual processes that create unnecessary effort and risk, including
manual timesheet handling, reconciliation and reporting
, replacing detective manual checking with smarter, system-enabled controls wherever possible.
About you n
You're a commercially minded payroll systems or business analysis professional who combines strong analytical capability with practical payroll knowledge.
n
You will ideally have:
n
n
Significant experience as a Business Analyst, Payroll Systems Analyst or similar role within a complex, multi-site organisation
n
Strong end-to-end knowledge of Australian payroll
n
Experience working with Awards and Enterprise Agreements, terminations, leave, long service leave, superannuation and STP Phase 2
n




Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive change across geographically dispersed teams without direct reporting authority.
n
Advanced Excel and data analysis capability, with experience working with payroll, workforce or operational datasets.
n
Experience designing controls, governance processes and assurance mechanisms within payroll or other regulated environments.
n
Experience in healthcare or another large, award-covered, 24/7 workforce environment will be highly regarded.
n
Hands-on experience with a major payroll platform;
Chris21 experience is highly desirable
n
Experience with UKG, Workday or comparable payroll platforms will also be considered
n
A proven track record of process mapping, standardisation and continuous improvement
n
Demonstrated experience identifying and delivering automation opportunities
n
Strong commercial judgement and the ability to prioritise competing opportunities based on value, risk and feasibility
