About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organisedLegal Secretaryto join our Newcastle office on afull-time basis.
This is an integral administrative role that will provide essential support to our Personal Injury team, ensuring the smooth operation of our practice.
As Legal Secretary, you will manage complex administrative tasks, maintaining legal documentation, and facilitating effective communication between clients, lawyers and external parties.
This position offers the opportunity to work within a professional legal environment whilst developing your expertise in legal administration.
Key responsibilities
Managing files, documents and correspondence with accuracy and confidentiality
Scheduling meetings and managing calendars
Maintaining detailed records and ensuring all documentation follow firm procedures
Providing administrative support to a Senior Associate one-on-one
Managing incoming and outgoing correspondence and ensuring timely distribution
Liaising with clients, courts,



government agencies and other external parties on behalf of the firm
Assisting with billing and timekeeping records as required
Maintaining a professional and confidential approach to all sensitive legal information
What we're looking for
Proven experience as a Legal Secretary or in a similar legal administrative role
Excellent organisational and time management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
High level of attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when handling legal documents
Professional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact confidently with clients and external parties
Sound knowledge of legal terminology, procedures and documentation requirements
Discretion and ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive client information
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal practice management software
A proactive approach and willingness to support the wider team as needed
Relevant qualifications in legal secretarial studies or equivalent experience within a legal environment would be advantageous
