Mornington Green Living Legacy Gardens is a unique 32-acre memorial park in Somerville, where families create lasting legacies through living legacy trees.
n
We're looking for a Grounds & Events Assistant to join our team in a varied, hands‐on role that combines gardening, landscaping and property maintenance with supporting our ceremonies and functions team.
n
No two days will necessarily look the same. One day you might be helping keep our gardens and grounds looking their best; the next you could be setting up for a family ceremony, assisting with a function or helping the team with administration.

What you'll be doing
n
Grounds, gardening & maintenance
n
n
Gardening and landscaping duties across our 32-acre property
n
Maintaining gardens, pathways, outdoor areas and facilities
n
General property maintenance and repairs
n
Assisting with set‐up and pack‐down for events and ceremonies
n
Keeping equipment, work areas and facilities clean, organised and well maintained
n
n
Ceremonies, functions & administration
n
n
Assisting the ceremonies and functions team with preparation and set‐up
n
Helping ensure ceremony spaces are presented beautifully for families
n
Moving and arranging chairs, tables and other equipment
n
Assisting with catering and function preparation where required
n
Supporting basic administration and organisational tasks
n
Providing practical support to the wider Mornington Green team
n

About you
n

Enjoys practical, hands‐on work and being outdoors
n
Takes pride in keeping gardens, grounds and facilities looking their best
n
Is reliable,



punctual and takes ownership of their work
n
Is comfortable working independently as well as part of a team
n
Has good attention to detail and takes pride in presentation
n
Is physically capable of undertaking gardening, maintenance and event set‐up duties
n
Is comfortable using basic tools and equipment
n
Has good communication skills and a friendly, respectful manner
n
n
Previous experience in gardening, landscaping, maintenance, groundskeeping, events or a similar role would be highly regarded, but we're also interested in the right person with a great attitude and willingness to learn.
