About the role
n
An exciting opportunity has opened up for a Fibre Optic Technician to join a fast-moving and growing team working on the rollout and operation of a high-performance Dark Fibre Network across Sydney. This is a hands‐on, predominantly field‐based role covering fibre installation, splicing, testing, commissioning and fault finding.

Key responsibilities
n
n
Single‐strand and mass ribbon fusion splicing
n
Fibre cable preparation into ODFs and joint enclosures
n
Installation of fibre termination panels and ODFs
n
Dark fibre testing including OTDR, IL and CD/PMD
n
Network commissioning and planned cuteovers
n
Fault finding across dark and live fibre networks
n
Cable hauling, patching and labelling
n
Quality assurance and maintaining accurate as‐built documentation
n
Project handovers
n
Supervising internal crews and subcontractors when required
n
n




About you
n
n
Experience in telecommunications or carrier networks highly regarded
n
Experience with fibre, CAT or coax cabling
n
Strong fault‐finding and testing capability
n
Good understanding of WHS requirements
n
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
n
Strong attention to quality and documentation
n
Supervisory or QA experience would be highly regarded
n
Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces
n
Current Australian driver's licence preferred
n
