Carline Automotive Solutions is seeking a skilled and experienced
Mechanic
to join our dynamic team in Cairns, QLD. This is a
full-time position
offering a rewarding career in the automotive trades industry. As a Mechanic, you will be at the heart of our operations, providing high-quality vehicle maintenance, repair and diagnostic services to our valued customers. This role is essential to maintaining our reputation for excellence and ensuring customer satisfaction. You will work on-site at our Cairns location, utilising modern workshop facilities and equipment to deliver professional automotive services.
Key responsibilities
Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in vehicles using appropriate testing equipment and procedures
Perform routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid top-ups and tyre rotations
Repair and replace vehicle components including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems and electrical systems
Conduct vehicle inspections and provide accurate quotations for repair work to customers
Maintain detailed service records and documentation for all work completed
Adhere to all health and safety regulations within the workshop environment
Communicate effectively with customers regarding their vehicle condition and recommended repairs
Utilise workshop management systems and diagnostic tools to complete work efficiently
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workshop operations
What we're looking for
A recognised automotive mechanic qualification or equivalent trade certification
Proven experience working as a mechanic, ideally with several years in a workshop environment
Strong knowledge of vehicle mechanical and electrical systems
Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and workshop tools
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals,



wiring diagrams and service specifications
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach
Physical fitness and ability to work in various positions for extended periods
Current driver's license and willingness to undertake test drives
Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and workmanship
Preferred: Experience with hybrid or electric vehicles, or relevant continuing career development
